LVIV, Ukraine (Reuters) – Ukraine’s largest steel firm Metinvest mentioned shells hit the territory of its Avdiivka coke plant on Sunday, damaging a few of its amenities.
Earlier, the overall prosecutor’s workplace mentioned 5 rockets had hit the plant, which had already suspended operations within the wake of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
Metinvest, majority-owned by Ukraine’s richest man and enterprise magnate Rinat Akhmetov, mentioned no one was harm within the shelling, which hit two coking outlets and different areas.
The website’s thermal energy plant, which provides warmth to the neighbouring city of Avdiivka, has stopped working, it mentioned.
Avdiivka is likely one of the largest coke vegetation in Europe and the key producer of coke for steel-making in Ukraine.
