Ukrainian photographer and Reuters contributor, Maksim Levin, killed covering war

LVIV, Ukraine (Reuters) – Maksim Levin, a photographer and videographer who was working for a Ukrainian information web site and was a long-time contributor to Reuters, was killed whereas covering Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. He leaves behind his spouse and 4 kids.

His physique was present in a village north of the Ukrainian capital Kyiv on April 1, the information web site LB.ua the place he labored stated on Saturday.

Levin, born in 1981, was a documentary movie maker who had contributed to Reuters’ protection of the nation since 2013.

He had been working within the village of Huta Mezhyhirska. There had been heavy shelling in that space.

The prosecutor common’s workplace in Ukraine stated Levin was “killed by servicemen of the Russian Armed Forces with two photographs from small arms”. This couldn’t be independently verified.

John Pullman, Reuters’ international managing editor for visuals, stated: “We are deeply saddened to listen to of the demise of Maksim Levin, a long-time contributor to Reuters, in Ukraine.”

“Maks has supplied compelling photographs and video from Ukraine to Reuters since 2013. His demise is a large loss to the world of journalism. Our ideas are together with his household at this tough time.”
