JOHOR BARU: The close ties between Johor and Singapore are further strengthened through cooperation during adversity.

This comes after Yayasan Sultan Ibrahim Johor (YSIJ), in continuous collaboration with Temasek Foundation from Singapore, presented donations in the form of face masks, medical supplies and cubic tents to the state government.

Johor’s Sultan Ibrahim Ibni Almarhum Sultan Iskandar was present during the donation handover ceremony that took place at Istana Polo here on Tuesday (Sept 14).

Also present was Johor Mentri Besar Datuk Hasni Mohammad, State Secretary Datuk Azmi Rohani and YSIJ board of trustees member Datuk Avinderjit Singh.

A total of 300,000 units of high-quality face masks and anti-bacterial supplies were delivered for the use of various frontline forces including the Johor Military Force.

The state Health Department received donations of dialysis equipment and supplies for patients undergoing treatment of continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT) and hemodialysis.

A total of 16,000 units of cubic tents were also presented to the Johor Disaster Committee for the use of residents affected by natural disasters as well as at temporary relief centres.

Hasni expressed his administration’s appreciation to His Majesty and Temasek Foundation for their contribution to the state government.

“The donations received, especially medical supplies and equipment, are important to improve the treatment capacity of hospitals in the state,” he said in a statement posted on Sultan Ibrahim’s official Facebook page here.

Meanwhile, Avinderjit said the continuous contribution received symbolises the strong cooperation between Sultan Ibrahim and the Singapore government and Temasek Foundation.

“The relationship between Johor and Singapore as well as the Temasek Foundation continues to be strong as a result of the close cooperation of His Majesty,” he added.
