Anwar pays last respect to Joseph Kurup

KOTA KINABALU: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim at this time paid his last respects to the late Tan Sri Joseph Kurup at Wisma Fook Lu Siew right here.

The prime minister, accompanied by Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor, arrived on the memorial centre at 2.22pm and was greeted by Datuk Arthur Joseph Kurup, the son of the late deputy chief minister, earlier than assembly relations, together with the widow, Puan Sri Melinda Mak Soak Fong.

Anwar then met the attendees on the centre earlier than leaving to return to Kuala Lumpur.

Joseph, 79, who was the founding father of Parti Bersatu Rakyat Sabah (PBRS), died on the National Heart Institute in Kuala Lumpur on Wednesday.

His stays, which was flown by industrial plane, arrived right here at 11.20pm last evening.

The deceased, who was the previous Member of Parliament for Pensiangan, held a number of necessary positions together with Minister within the Prime Minister’s Department (National Unity and Integration).
