5 youths suspected of planning Islamic State-inspired assault in Germany

BERLIN (Reuters) – German anti-terrorism forces on Thursday raided the houses of 5 younger folks west of the town of Bonn who have been suspected of planning an assault impressed by the Islamic State militant group, prosecutors mentioned.

Not one of the 5 suspects – aged 16 to 22 – was arrested as judges solely granted investigators search warrants given many of the suspects are minors.

Two of the suspects are German residents, one other two are twin Russian-German nationals and one is Turkish.

“The suspects are accused of getting ready for a terrorist assault impressed by propaganda materials of the Islamic State group,” the Public Prosecutor’s Workplace within the metropolis of Duesseldorf mentioned, including that some 350 cops carried out the raids.

Investigators will analyse materials confiscated throughout the search to make use of as proof towards the suspects in any potential trial.
