In a brand new interview with Britain’s The Independent, the Canadian actor revealed that he needed to wax his entire body to realize that plastic look for the upcoming Barbie film.
“Waxing has been an education to say the least. It was one of the most painful experiences of my life,” he said in the interview.
“I have such a newfound admiration for the incredibly brave women who go through this on a monthly basis.”
The Shang-Chi And The Legend Of The Ten Rings star didn’t reveal what character he is playing in the movie directed by Greta Gerwig.
The 33-year-old said he follows the chatter that goes on online by fans who are trying to guess the plot of the movie.
“Honestly, the discourse online is giving me life,” he stated. “With every casting announcement or bit of news, they’re like: ‘What is this?’ And that’s perfect – the less you know about it the better.”
Barbie additionally stars Margot Robbie in the title position, Ryan Gosling, America Ferrera and Will Ferrell and it is slated for launch in July 2023.
Liu stated he loves the vibe on the set of the film.
“The aesthetic of the film is simply so vibrant and full of life. Imagine exhibiting as much as that set each day with a bunch of pals, like, ‘Great, cue the music!’
“We’re dancing, and you then come out of a 12-hour day, and you are like, ‘Did I actually go to work at this time? Or did I simply hang around with my pals?’,” he advised Entertainment Weekly.
