KUALA LUMPUR: Aeon Co
(M) Bhd has appointed Ono Keiji as managing director and chief government officer (MD/CEO), following the resignation of Shafie Shamsuddin effective June 30.
In a submitting with Bursa Malaysia, the retailer stated Ono has 27 years’ expertise serving numerous roles inside the Aeon Group globally.
Prior to this, Ono has served as president and consultant director of Aeon Cambodia and joins Aeon Co (M) from his function as president and consultant director of AEON Ryukyu Co. Ltd in Japan.
“Shafie has been instrumental in Aeon’s transformational journey. His visionary and inspirational management has created an Aeon that’s extra resilient and agile to fulfill future challenges. We thank him for his dedication and dedication and need him all the perfect in his future endeavours”, chairman Datuk Iskandar Sarudin stated.
