PETALING JAYA: The authorities has determined that the Federal Constitution (Amendments) 2022 Bill on Anti-Party Hopping and Limiting the tenure of the Prime Minister to no more than 10 years requires further deliberation, says Datuk Seri Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar.
The Minister within the Prime Minister’s Department stated by means of engagement periods with different stakeholders, significantly Barisan Nasional and Perikatan Nasional, will make sure the amendments get their help in Dewan Rakyat.
“Under Article 159 of the Federal Constitution, we need two-third majority support in the Dewan to amend the Federal Constitution,” he stated in a press release Friday (March 8).
