Badminton: Indra Wijaya to be Zii Jia’s coach

SHAH ALAM: Recently impartial shuttler Lee Zii Jia has kick-started his crew recruitment drive by roping in Indonesian-born Indra Wijaya (pic) as his coach.

The information of Indra’s appointment was introduced by Deputy Youth and Sports Minister Datuk Seri Ti Lian Ker, who took to Facebook to unveil the formation of the Lee Zii Jia Badminton Club.

Indra, presently the nationwide crew singles coach, has a contract with the Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM) which runs till March 31.

However, Ti has indicated that BAM had been “prepared” to launch Indra instantly to help Zii Jia in preparations for his All-England title defence from March 16-20.

“Thank you sports activities commissioner Ibrahim Yusuf for approving the formation of Lee Zii Jia Badminton Club,” wrote Ti.

“This would assist Zii Jia appoint coach Indra Wijaya, whose contract expires on March 31.

“BAM had been prepared to hand over the Indonesian coach promptly to assist Zii Jia along with his (skilled) profession growth.”
