PETALING JAYA: Badminton legend Datuk Misbun Sidek’s wife Latifah Sidek passed away at the Kuala Lumpur Hospital on Friday after succumbing to Covid-19.

The 58-year-old, who had frequented hospital for her kidney problem, was admitted in the hospital two weeks ago after she was tested positive for the virus.

She was married to Misbun in April 1987.

Former world No. 1 men’s singles shuttler Roslin Hashim was shocked with her demise.

“She was a good person with a gem of a heart. When my brother Hafiz and I were with Nusa Mahsuri, she would take care of us as though we were her own children,” said Roslin.

“This is so sad, I can’t even pay my last respect because of the procedures due to Covid-19.

“I was only able to convey condolences to Datuk Misbun and his children via the phone. May God give them comfort during this time,” he added.
