MADRID (Reuters) – Sea rescue services from the Canadian metropolis of Halifax discovered and recovered 10 bodies from a Spanish trawler that sank off the jap coast of Canada, the services stated late on Tuesday, although 13 crews are nonetheless lacking.
“Regrettably, Joint Rescue Coordination Center (JRCC) Halifax can affirm that a further three deceased people have been recovered from the sunken fishing vessel,” the centre stated on its twitter account. It had introduced the restoration of seven bodies earlier.
Three surviving sailors from the trawler, struggling from extreme hypothermia, have been plucked from a life raft early on Tuesday.
The vessel, the Villa de Pitanxo, with a crew of 26 comprising 16 Spaniards, 5 Peruvians and 5 Ghanaians, launched a misery beacon at 0424 GMT, Spain’s fisheries ministry stated.
She sank round 450 km (280 miles) east-southeast of Newfoundland, the ministry stated.
The Villa de Pitanxo belongs to Nores Marin, a fishing firm primarily based in (*10*) within the northwestern Spanish area of Galicia.
