Chile’s economy grows 7.2 pct in first quarter

SANTIAGO, May 18 (Xinhua) — Chile’s economy grew 7.2 p.c in the first quarter of the 12 months in comparison with the identical interval in 2021, in line with a report launched Wednesday by the Central Bank of Chile.

However, development was under expectations, with financial exercise in the first quarter rising 0.6 p.c lower than initially forecast in the Monthly Index of Economic Activity, the report stated.
