(Reuters) – A Colombian national was arrested and charged in the United States in connection with the plot to assassinate Haitian President Jovenel Moise, the U.S. Justice Department mentioned on Tuesday.
“Mario Antonio Palacios, 43, is charged with conspiracy to commit homicide or kidnapping exterior the United States and offering materials assist ensuing in demise, understanding or intending that such materials assist can be used to put together for or perform the conspiracy to kill or kidnap,” the Justice Department mentioned in an announcement.
Palacios was in custody and can seem in courtroom for his preliminary look on Tuesday.
