KUALA LUMPUR: Police have arrested two men for trespassing into the Royal Malaysia Air Force (RMAF) base here.

Brickfields Deputy OCPD Supt Basri Sagoni said police received a report that two unknown men were seen inside the perimeter of the RMAF family housing area at around 12.22pm on Wednesday (Aug 25).

“The complainant realised something was amiss while on duty with a colleague at around 9.15am.

“The complainant saw two unknown men inside the perimeter of the Air Force family housing area,” he said in a statement on Thursday (Aug 26).

Supt Basri said the complainant tried to chase after the two men but could not catch them.

“When they checked along the outside wall nearby, they found two motorcycles which were believed to be used by the men.

“They also found two containers filled with copper and electric cables which were believed to have been taken from inside the RMAF base,” he said, adding that police later arrested two men aged 19 and 35 in connection with the case.

Supt Basri said they also seized two mobile phones and tools used by the men to commit crimes.

“Both of them do not have any prior records.

“We have classified the case under Section 447 of the Penal Code for criminal trespass,” he said, adding that both men would be remanded to assist in further investigations.
