Cops bust ‘Remy Sentosa’ car theft gang

KUALA LUMPUR: Police have busted a gang of thieves who primarily focused Proton vehicles and used a modified hexagonal (allen) key to begin the engines.

Sentul OCPD Asst Comm Beh Eng Lai stated the Remy Sentosa four-member gang had been lively within the Klang Valley, notably in Sentul.

He stated police launched Ops Lejang and carried out a number of raids in Selangor and Perak between June 4 and eight.

“We arrested four men as well as two women who we believe are the suspects’ girlfriends.

“Following the arrest, we located eight cars that were reported stolen,” he informed a press convention right here on Monday (June 14).

ACP Beh stated the stolen vehicles had been offered for between RM2,000 and RM5,000 every and added that 13 circumstances had been solved following the arrests.

He stated to steal a car, the gang would establish the goal and ship one in every of their members, a mechanic, to unlock the automobile.

“They would then disable the alarm before starting the engine with a modified allen key,” he stated.

ACP Beh stated the suspects had been handed over to Ampang police for additional motion.
