KUALA LUMPUR: Police have issued a compound notice to Pasir Salak MP Datuk Seri Tajuddin Abdul Rahman for not wearing his face mask at the Parliament building.

Sentul OCPD Asst Comm Beh Eng Lai said they detected a tweet at around 10am on Tuesday (July 27) from Twitter user @sultanoftasik which depicts Tajuddin breaching the standard operating procedure by not wearing his mask.

“Investigations were carried out and found that Tajuddin attended the special sitting at Parliament on Monday (July 26).

“At around 2.30pm, he was found to be not wearing his mask while with another individual at the Parliament lobby,” he said in a statement on Tuesday.

He said Tajuddin was issued a compound notice for the SOP violation at around 1pm on Tuesday.

ACP Beh said the amount of the compound would be decided by the district health director.

“I urge the public to always comply with the SOP and always wear your mask and observe physical distancing when in public areas in order to curb the spread of Covid-19,” he said.

This is the second time Tajuddin has been issued a compound for not wearing his face mask.

Last month, police issued him with a RM1,500 compound after he did not wear his face mask during a press conference in the aftermath of the collision between two LRT trains.
