Cops to release photofit of suspects in snatch theft that cost teenager her arm

KUALA LUMPUR: Police are assembling a photofit of the suspects in a snatch theft incident that caused a teenager to lose her right arm, and will release it soon.

Sentul OCPD Asst Comm Beh Eng Lai said they had acquired CCTV footage from the area where the incident occurred, but the images were grainy.

“We could not make out the number plate of the suspects’ motorcycle.

“We have taken the statement of the motorcyclist the victim was with and obtained a description of the suspects for a photofit.

“We will release it as soon as possible,” he told reporters on Thursday (Sept 2).

It was reported that a 17-year-old girl lost her arm following a snatch theft incident along Jalan Kuching here on Aug 26.

The suspects also stole the motorcycle the victim and her friend were riding.

The girl suffered injuries to her arm during the attack, and was rushed to Hospital Kuala Lumpur for medical treatment.

Her right arm could not be saved and had to be amputated.
