PETALING JAYA: Malaysia recorded a new high of 20,889 Covid-19 cases on Friday (Aug 6), bringing the cumulative number of infections in the country to 1,224,595 cases.
Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said Selangor still accounted for the most number of cases, with 8,792 new infections followed by Kuala Lumpur (2,483).
In a tweet Friday, Dr Noor Hisham said three other states recorded more than 1,000 new cases each – Kedah with 1,371, Sabah (1,291) and Johor (1,275).
Only two localities reported single-digit figures – Labuan and Perlis with nine new Covid-19 cases each.
