Covid-19: Sabah requires people arriving from 11 countries to undergo mandatory quarantine

KOTA KINABALU: People arriving from Sabah from 11 countries may have to undergo Covid-19 mandatory quarantine with impact from Tuesday (Dec 28).

State Covid 19 spokesman Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun mentioned that guests from the United Kingdom, Saudi Arabia, Australia, Norway, France, Canada, Denmark, Nigeria, United States, India and (*11*) may have to undergo mandatory quarantine.

He mentioned in a press release Sunday (Dec 26) that guests from these countries should undergo quarantine on the first worldwide port of arrival on the quarantine centre permitted by the federal government earlier than they will proceed or board a flight to Sabah.

The measure comes amid worries over the unfold of Covid-19 instances involving the Omnicron variant reported in these countries.

Sabah recorded 108 new Covid-19 instances Sunday, the bottom variety of Covid-19 instances in seven months. A single demise was reported.
