Cricket: Cricket-UAE, Ireland seal T20 World Cup spots

(Reuters) – The United Arab Emirates and Ireland certified for the boys’s Twenty20 World Cup by successful their semi-finals within the qualifying match in Oman on Tuesday.

UAE ended the three-match successful run of Nepal with a 68-run victory to qualify for the T20 World Cup for the second time, whereas Ireland defeated Oman by 56 runs and can make their seventh look on the international showpiece occasion.

The T20 World Cup is about to be held from Oct. 16 to Nov. 13 throughout seven cities in Australia. The match was scheduled to happen Down Under in late 2020 however was postponed for 2 years due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Australia are set to defend the title on house soil after successful the 2021 version by beating neighbours New Zealand within the ultimate.

UAE and Ireland took the thirteenth and 14th spots for the T20 World Cup, with the final two locations to be determined on the second qualifying match in Zimbabwe in July.

The winners of Thursday’s ultimate between UAE and Ireland within the qualifiers will safe a spot in Group 1 of the primary spherical on the World Cup. They will be part of Sri Lanka and Namibia with the fourth group to be determined after the second qualifiers.
