Cycling: Motorcycling-Suzuki reach agreement with Dorna on MotoGP exit

(Reuters) – Suzuki will go away MotoGP on the finish of the season after reaching an agreement with promoters Dorna, the Japanese producer stated on Wednesday.

It can even finish manufacturing facility involvement within the World Endurance Championship.

“Suzuki Motor Corporation and Dorna have come to an agreement to terminate Suzuki’s participation in MotoGP on the finish of the 2022 season,” the corporate stated in a press release.

It gave no monetary particulars of any settlement.

The producer introduced in May that it needed to depart MotoGP, regardless of having beforehand dedicated to 2026, however Dorna had stated Suzuki couldn’t make a unilateral choice.

Suzuki president Toshihiro Suzuki stated in a press release on Wednesday that the choice to depart MotoGP was resulting from “the necessity to re-allocate assets on different initiatives for sustainability.”

He stated Suzuki would assist riders Alex Rins and 2020 world champion Joan Mir till the tip of the season.
