PETALING JAYA: The “Malaysian Family” approach by Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob is inclusive, says Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong.

The MCA president said the phrase transcends religion, race and ethnicity.

“The Prime Minister also gave assurances that the voices of the young will be given priority in the government.

“He also urged all the members of the Dewan Rakyat, whether in the government or otherwise, to work together to ensure the recovery of the country,” he said in a Facebook post on Sunday (Aug 22).

In his maiden speech as Prime Minister, Ismail Sabri said all Malaysians were part of a family despite the diversity of religion and race.

“Every single one of you resembles my very own family – regardless of age differences. We complement each other and are in need of one another as part of a single body,” he said.

Ismail Sabri was appointed Prime Minister when he secured the majority support of 114 MPs after Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin stepped down as premier last Monday (Aug 16).
