PETALING JAYA: The Transport Ministry will conduct regular engagements with ehailing services to guarantee a great partnership between the non-public sector and the federal government, says Datuk Dr Wee Ka Siong.
Dr Wee mentioned he met up with Grab group chief govt officer and co-founder Anthony Tan and his workforce in Malaysia on Wednesday (Jan 26).
However, he expressed his disappointment that the assembly might solely be finished remotely due to Covid-19.
“We exchanged some concepts on how to complement one another to preserve security and safety for passengers, drivers, riders and all customers of Grab’s services. I’m happy to know that Grab is constantly innovating of their labs to stability the pace of their services with the highest precedence of holding its stakeholders protected.
“I additionally urged Grab’s administration to help the Ministry with partaking its finish customers, each riders and passengers, to maintain them up to date on the general public insurance policies and guidelines that govern the service.
“The Ministry will proceed to have regular engagements with Grab and different ehailing services to guarantee a great linkage between the non-public sector and the federal government’s insurance policies on this house,” he mentioned on his Facebook web page on Wednesday.
In the one hour assembly, Dr Wee mentioned he, collectively with the Ministry’s secretary-general Datuk Isham Ishak, Land Transport undersecretary Wan Asraf Wan Salleh, have been joined by Grab Group COO Alex Hungate, Grab Malaysia Country MD Sean Goh, the general public affairs director Ebi Azly Abdullah, and nation operations director Rashid Shukor.
