Dutch inflation hits highest level since 1975

THE HAGUE, April 1 (Xinhua) — Inflation within the Netherlands hit 11.9 p.c in March, the highest level since the oil disaster in 1975, based on an preliminary estimate revealed by the Dutch Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS) on Friday.

The CBS mentioned the March inflation price of virtually 12 p.c, in comparison with 7.3 p.c in February, is a results of increased meals and vitality costs.

The inflation figures are based mostly on the European Harmonized Index of Consumer Prices (HICP).

Meanwhile, the figures based on the Dutch client worth index (CPI) will likely be revealed by the CBS on April 7.

Inflation within the eurozone as an entire was 7.5 p.c in March, up from 5.9 p.c in February, the European statistical workplace Eurostat reported on Friday.
