Edra Melaka Power Plant achieves commercial operation

ALOR GAJAH: Edra Melaka Power Plant’s (EMPP), which achieved its commercial operation date (COD) at midnight on Feb 28, 2022, will now add 2,242MW of electrical energy to the nationwide grid.

In an announcement, it stated the ability plant can be the biggest mixed cycle fuel turbine (CCGT) energy plant in Southeast Asia.

Built, owned and operated by Edra Power Holdings Sdn Bhd’s (Edra) wholly-owned subsidiary Edra Energy Sdn Bhd, the low-carbon CCGT energy plant contains three producing blocks and its remaining unit has efficiently achieved its COD.

Edra’s chairman Dai Honggang stated the eagerly-awaited mission won’t simply contribute considerably to the nation’s vitality wants, however may also add a variety of spill-over financial advantages together with attracting new investments in addition to boosting industrial and commercial growth in Melaka.
