KOTA KINABALU: A Sabah Ports employee in Sandakan district was killed after the forklift he was working toppled and crushed him.
The sufferer, recognized as Said Hassan, 60, was shifting equipment utilizing the forklift when it tipped over Said.
Said was believed to have died on the spot in the 5.30am incident on the Sabah Ports on Jalan Karamunting on Tuesday (June 14).
State Fire and Rescue Department assistant director of operations Misran Bisara stated they obtained a name in regards to the incident at 5.46am.
“Our men were sent in to assist in the extraction works. We had to use another forklift to get the victim out from the one he was pinned under,” he stated.
Misran stated Said was pronounced lifeless on the scene by medical officers there.
“The victim’s body was handed over to the police for further action,” Misran added.
He stated operations ceased at round 7.55am.
