Formula 1’s governing physique has cleared its president of claims he interfered with races in Saudi Arabia and Las Vegas final season.
Mohammed Ben Sulayem was alleged to have intervened to overturn a penalty for Aston Martin’s Fernando Alonso on the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix.
A whistleblower claimed the president informed officers not to certify the Las Vegas circuit for final 12 months’s race.
The FIA stated there was no proof to assist the claims.
“After reviewing the outcomes of the inquiries, the Ethics Committee have been unanimous of their dedication that there was no proof to substantiate allegations of interference of any form involving the FIA President Mohammed Ben Sulayem,” stated the FIA in a press release.
It added its compliance division, supported by exterior advisors, had carried out thorough investigations into the claims.
