PARIS (Reuters) – French President Emmanuel Macron mentioned the Ukraine disaster by telephone with British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, and underlined the necessity “to take care of dialogue to de-escalate (the scenario),” the French presidency mentioned on Saturday.

Macron is due subsequent week to go to Russia, which has massed troops close to Ukraine, stoking Western fears of an invasion. Moscow denies planning to invade Ukraine.
