CHISINAU, Moldava (Reuters) – French President Emmanuel Macron stated on Wednesday that Moldova’s bid to join the European Union was “completely authentic”, talking at a joint information convention with Moldava President Maia Sandu.
Moldova, which borders Ukraine to the east and Romania to the west, has pressed forward with efforts to join the EU amid fears that it may very well be drawn into the battle between Russia and Ukraine, notably due to pro-Russian separatists in Moldova’s Transdniestria area.
France will assist attain a consensus amongst EU members on the difficulty of Moldova’s software to join the bloc at an important Council assembly subsequent week, Macron stated.
