After a number of weeks of controversy, Futurama voice actor John DiMaggio has formally signed on to the Hulu revival of the beloved animated sci-fi comedy sequence, bringing the lengthy and bitter saga often called #Bendergate to a detailed.
When the revival was introduced in February, followers have been dismayed when DiMaggio’s identify was not among the many checklist of returning authentic solid members. Rumours emerged that DiMaggio was lower from the manufacturing after he demanded higher pay for each himself and his co-stars on the brand new manufacturing.
The rising outrage from followers to the launch of a social media marketing campaign known as #Bendergate, which urged the community to reinstate DiMaggio to the solid, in addition to to supply its workers and expertise a good wage.
Once the information broke that he was again on the Futurama manufacturing, DiMaggio thanked the followers for their assist, later stating that he felt that he and the remainder of the solid deserved to be paid greater than what was provided to return again for the present.
In an announcement, DiMaggio wrote: “so damn grateful for the love and support of fans and colleagues alike during this whole time (especially my wife, Kate), and I cannot wait to get back to work with my ‘Futurama’ family … #Bendergate is officially over, so put it on the back of a shelf behind Xmas decorations, or maybe in that kitchen drawer with all of the other crap you put in there … I’M BACK, BABY!”
