(Reuters) – Global Ports Holdings PLC mentioned on Sunday that it had not been involved in granting permission for a superyacht believed to be owned by an individual topic to UK sanctions to dock at Turkey’s Bodrum cruise port.
The firm did not identify the yacht or the person involved however mentioned Turkish authorities are accountable for granting permission for ships to enter port, including that “GPH should adjust to such a choice so long as the choice is authorized beneath the relevant legal guidelines”.
Turkey’s ministry of international affairs might not instantly be contacted for remark.
The 140-metre (460-foot) yacht Solaris linked to Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich docked in Bodrum on March 21 after skirting the waters of European Union nations which have sanctioned the oligarch over Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
A consultant for Global Ports might not instantly reply to a Reuters request for extra particulars concerning the yacht or its possession.
