Haitian gang chief threatens to kill ‘these Individuals’ in video on-line

PORT-AU-PRINCE (Reuters) – A Haitian man asserting that he represents a gang who kidnapped a gaggle of American and Canadian missionaries stated in a video posted on YouTube on Thursday that he’s prepared to kill “these Individuals” if he doesn’t get what he wants.

The person talking within the video, wearing a purple go well with, is identifiable as the person identified in Haiti by the alias Lamo Sanjou, the chief of the 400 Mawozo gang.

Reuters was unable to independently affirm the veracity of the video or when it was made. It exhibits the person talking on the street and surrounded by different, unidentified males. The missionaries should not current.

A Haitian police spokesperson didn’t instantly reply to a Reuters request for remark.

A high Haitian official this week stated the abductors had requested $17 million for the discharge of the missionaries.
