HFMD: Sarawak records 1,900 cases in last six weeks

SIBU: Sarawak reported a hand, foot, and mouth illness epidemic in the last six weeks with 1,900 cases from a complete of 386 clusters.

Deputy Premier Datuk Seri Dr Sim Kui Hian in his Facebook submit on Friday (July 1) mentioned the 386 clusters embody cases at houses, colleges, preschools and kindergartens.

“For the last six weeks, there was an epidemic outbreak of hand, foot and mouth illness in Sarawak. Two weeks earlier than last week there have been 900 cases. And 1,000 cases last week,” he mentioned.

Dr Sim urged folks to instill good hygiene at residence, college, preschool and kindergarten the place there are kids.

“If you discover kids with rashes and fever, please (advise them) to go to the closest clinic and please assist our healthcare authority to cease the unfold of this illness,” he mentioned.
