IPOH: Repairs to homes damaged by a landspout final month listed below are underway, says Datuk Rumaizi Baharin.

The Ipoh mayor stated repairs have been being carried out on 44 homes at Taman Tasek Damai on Jalan Tawas Baru 2 and Jalan Tawas 12.

He stated they’d additionally do “touch-up repairs” for homes which had already been fastened by homeowners.

“The repairs need to be done or else the houses will continue to leak when it rains,” he stated throughout a go to to the residential space on Saturday (Feb 12).

He additionally stated the repairs have been largely confined to the roofs of homes.

A complete of 219 homes in 4 residential areas – Kampung Tawas, Taman Tasek Damai, Taman Desa Seri Chepor and Kampung Seri Klebang Tambahan – have been hit by the freak storm on Jan 30.

Roofs of some homes have been blown off whereas timber and electrical energy transmission poles have been toppled.

Perak Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad had stated that the state would assist affected owners restore their homes and every sufferer could be given RM300.

Rumaizi stated they’d go to Kampung Tawas subsequent.

“We received reports that two houses were completely destroyed so these need to be rebuilt.

“We will try to do it as soon as possible,” he stated.
