KUALA LUMPUR: I-Bhd expects an 80% take-up rate for its recently completed corporate tower at the flagship i-City Golden Triangle in Shah Alam due to the impending re-location of regional financial institutions.

Group chairman Tan Sri Lim Kim Hong said its technology city with adoption of advanced technologies provides it with a competitive edge over other industry players.

“These (advantages) will allow us to attract established companies to relocate to i-City Golden Triangle, ” he said in a statement after its AGM.

The i-City Golden Triangle is an integrated lifestyle ultrapolis with cutting edge technologies and remains the main focus for the group. Its technology-related infrastructure, a 400G capable higher availability network will be able to facilitate the development of the finance and IT in the services industry.

“In addition to our first Tier-3 data centre operating since 2008 that is currently fully tenanted, we are planning to add two more data centres accommodating 100, 000 square feet each to meet the surging needs of cloud computing facilities, ” Lim added.

Upon completion, i-City will be home to 25, 000 residents and 30, 000 knowledge workers.

In the second half of 2021, the group will see the completion of DoubleTree by Hilton and Hill10 development whereby DoubleTree by Hilton is slated to welcome its guests in 2022.

I-Bhd also said its strong balance sheet, coupled with continued business partnering, will continue to provide the group with financial flexibility to capitalise on growth opportunities.

It expects the vaccination programme to be a game changer for economic growth and recovery in 2021 and 2022 to achieve the normal or pre-Covid pandemic level.

It expects the pent-up demand to visit theme parks and shopping malls will lead to a strong rebound from pandemic lows and is expected to have a positive impact on the group’s earnings once border restrictions are lifted.

I-Bhd recently entered a strategic partnership with Maybank Islamic to offer HouzKEY programme for its latest luxury residential project, BeCentral.

The project has garnered positive interest with bookings for 100 units bookings since its rollout this month.
