BUTTERWORTH: Police have detained 4 individuals together with two youngsters for unlawful racing, and seized 43 motorcycles, in the ‘Op Samseng Jalanan’ carried out at two areas frequented by ‘Mat Rempit’ (unlawful bike racers) in the state on Saturday (Jan 29) night time.

Penang Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department head, Supt Zafri Zolkapli, mentioned the operation, which began at 10pm and ended 5 hours later, was carried out in the Barat Daya and Seberang Perai Utara districts, right here.

He mentioned the 4 individuals have been investigated below Section 42 (1) of the Road Transport Act 1987, whereas the 43 motorcycles have been seized below Section 64 of the identical legislation.
