Illicit liquor processing ring busted with RM3.5mil worth of seizures

MUAR: Cops smashed an unlawful liquor processing operation with seizures worth RM3.5mil after raiding three premises right here.

The General Operations Force (GOF) arrested two males, each 29, in the course of the raid below Ops Kontraban round 11am on Wednesday (Dec 8).

GOF Battalion 5 commanding officer Supt Dimin Awang stated the 2 males had transformed the premises into unlawful distilleries – positioned in Bukit Treh, Parit Kadir Darat close to Bukit Pasir and Parit Jamil in Parit Jawa – the place GOF members discovered and seized hundreds of litres of illicit alcohol drinks and substances.

“We seized closed-circuit tv (CCTV) cameras other than 10 automobiles together with multipurpose automobiles (MPV), 5 lorries and a fortlift.

“The whole worth of the assorted liquors seized is at RM1.2mil whereas the whole worth of all seizures together with the automobiles is at RM3.5mil,” he stated on Thursday (Dec 9).

Supt Dimin stated the case was being investigated below Section 135 (1) of the Customs Act 1967 and Section 75 of the Excise Act 1976 (offence of making, processing liquor and possessing liquor making tools).

He urged the general public to proceed to channel data to GOF in curbing the presence of contraband items and the entry of undocumented immigrants utilizing ungazetted roads by its hotline at 07-755 7280.
