JOHOR BARU: Compound notices of RM1,000 each were issued to 47 people in Johor for defying the movement control (MCO) order on Thursday (April 9), says state police chief Comm Datuk Ayob Khan Mydin Pitchay (pic).

He added that since the MCO was implemented on March 18, about 1,154 people have been nabbed with 754 charged in court.

“All of those arrested will be investigated under Sections 186 and 270 of the Penal Code as well as Section 22(b) of the Prevention and Control of Infections Disease 1998 and Rule 3 of the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases (Measures within Infected Local Areas) Regulations 2020,” he said in a statement on Friday (April 10).

He added that the police will be taking stricter action against anyone who does not comply with the MCO and hoped that the public will cooperate and remain at home.
