Johor polls: Muda to field two central committee members, state chief as candidates

JOHOR BARU: Malaysian United Democratic Alliance (Muda) has named two of its central govt committee members and its Johor chief as candidates for the upcoming Johor state election.

Party president Syed Saddiq Abdul Rahman introduced that central govt committee members Lim Wei Jiet and Nurafiqah M. Zulkifli will contest the Tenang and Bukit Kepong seats, respectively.

Meanwhile, Johor Muda chief Mohd Azrol Rahani has been fielded to contest the Bukit Permai seat.

In GE14, Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu), which was then underneath Pakatan Harapan, received all three seats.

Mohd Solihan Badri, who’s now Johor Perikatan Nasional data chief, received the Tenang seat with a 1,070 majority whereas the Bukit Kepong seat was received by former Johor mentri besar Datuk Dr Sahruddin Jamal with a 1,273 majority.

Meanwhile, the Bukit Permai seat was beforehand received by former Johor Islamic Religious Affairs Committee chairman Tosrin Jarvanthi with a majority of two,531 votes.
