Johor polls: PKR offers three seats to Muda

JOHOR BARU: PKR has provided three of its 20 seats that it’s contesting within the Johor state elections to the Malaysian United Democratic Alliance (Muda).

State PKR chairman Syed Ibrahim Syed Noh stated the occasion has held a collection of discussions with Muda, which was consistent with Pakatan Harapan’s presidential council and Johor Pakatan.

“In the series of discussions, each party has given their open and honest opinions.

“As a result of these discussions, PKR has offered three seats to Muda, and is awaiting a response to the offer,” he stated in an announcement right here Wednesday (Feb 9) night time.

Earlier, DAP and Parti Amanah Negara (Amanah) had accomplished seat negotiations with Muda.

“The consensus between Amanah, DAP and Muda is that Muda will contest within the following six seats – Tenang, Bukit Kepong, Parit Raja, Machap, Puteri Wangsa, Bukit Permai,” stated DAP, Amanah and Muda in a joint assertion.

PKR was briefly talked about within the joint assertion.

Disunity inside Pakatan turned obvious final week following PKR’s determination to use its personal emblem within the Johor polls, whereas DAP and Amanah would use Pakatan’s emblem.

On Feb 6, PKR President Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim was quoted as saying that Muda needed to contest 10 seats within the Johor state elections.

Anwar stated Muda had been informed to ship in its candidate record earlier than negotiations may begin.

Nominations for the Johor state election has been set on Feb 26 and polling on March 12.
