Mali asks Denmark to immediately withdraw troops deployed there

BAMAKO (Reuters) – Mali’s authorities mentioned on Monday it had requested Denmark to immediately withdraw troops deployed to the West African nation as a part of a French-led counter-terrorism job power as a result of it was not consulted and the deployment failed to observe protocol.

“The authorities of Mali notes with astonishment, the deployment on its territory of a contingent of Danish particular forces throughout the Takuba power,” the federal government mentioned in a assertion.

“The authorities underlines that this deployment occurred with out its consent, and with out consideration of the extra protocol relevant to European companions who participate within the framework of the Takuba Task Force,” it mentioned, including that Mali is inviting to Denmark to immediately withdraw the troops.
