MCMC probes founders of beauty products, celebs uploading indecent content

KUALA LUMPUR: The Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC), in collaboration with police, is conducting an investigation into three people who uploaded indecent and obscene content on their Instagram and Tik Tok accounts just lately.

MCMC, in an announcement on Thursday (June 16) stated an investigation had been carried out on the founders of beauty merchandise and well-known celebrities round Kuala Lumpur and Penang on Wednesday (June 15), after it acquired complaints from the general public on indecent content.

“Further investigation into this case remains to be underway beneath Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998 which offers for a most wonderful of RM50,000 or imprisonment not exceeding one 12 months or each and may also be fined an additional RM1,000 for every day the offence continues after conviction.

“MCMC takes severely the motion of a number of founders of beauty merchandise and well-known celebrities who’ve uploaded content that might be deemed indecent and obscene on their Instagram and Tik Tok purposes,” based on the assertion.
