M’sia seeks Georgia’s support for re-election to ICAO Council, says Dr Wee

PETALING JAYA: Malaysia has requested for Georgia’s support in its bid for re-election to the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) Council for a sixth time period, says Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong.

The Transport Minister additionally mentioned Malaysia would proceed to support ICAO’s initiatives to promote safety, security, effectivity, setting safety and rule of regulation in worldwide civil aviation.

Dr Wee had obtained a courtesy name from Georgia’s ambbasador to Malaysia Nikoloz Apkhazava at his workplace in Putrajaya on Monday (Jan 10).

“We mentioned the mutual recognition of certificates pursuant to Regulation I/10 of the International Convention on Standards, Training, Certificationa dn Watchkeeping for Seafarers 1978,” the MCA president mentioned in a Facebook submit Monday.
