Nikola shares rise as it starts manufacturing electric trucks

(Reuters) – Nikola Corp shares rose about 9% in premarket commerce on Thursday, a day after the corporate stated it had began manufacturing of its electric truck.

Nikola stated on Wednesday after markets closed that it had began manufacturing its Tre battery electric automobile (BEV) at its facility in Coolidge, Arizona on March 21.

The firm, which can also be growing a fuel-cell-powered electric truck stated it would begin manufacturing of the Tre BEV truck for the European market at its manufacturing unit in Germany in June 2023.

Traders have a brief place on about 27.5% of Nikola’s free float, in response to estimates from information analytics agency Ortex.

Shares within the Phoenix, Arizona-based firm, which stated it would ship 300 to 500 Tre BEV semi-trucks this 12 months, have been buying and selling at $9.93.
