PETALING JAYA: There will likely be no compromise on bullying, says Datuk Seri Mahdzir Khalid (pic).

The Rural Development Minister mentioned the Majlis Amanah Rakyat (Mara) would conduct an in depth investigation into the viral video of a bullying incident the place a pupil was seen in a number of clips taking punches from his friends.

The incident is believed to have occurred at a boarding faculty, which falls below the ministry’s purview in Kuala Kangsar.

“Mara views the matter seriously. Strict action will be taken against those involved based on the existing provisions and rules at the Mara management level, if the video is authentic,” he was quoted by Kosmo on Friday (Dec 10).

Mahdzir mentioned Mara wouldn’t give room for any motion or misconduct that violates the ethics of humanity.

He added that they might not compromise in opposition to those that commit misconduct or acts that violate the legal guidelines, guidelines and ethics inside their premises.

A pupil, believed to be one of many perpetrators concerned in the bullying incident, pleaded for forgiveness from the sufferer’s household and requested the dad and mom to not lodge a police report.

“We deeply apologise, especially to you (the victim), parents (of the victim) and everyone.

“We realise that what we did was very wrong.

“To you (the victim), I want to apologise for embarrassing and recording the incident. I really hope you won’t lodge a police report; you are our only hope,” the alleged perpetrator mentioned in a WhatsApp screengrab, stories Utusan Malaysia.
