WASHINGTON (Reuters) – Gas is unlikely to flow by the Nord Stream 2 pipeline if Russia renews its aggression towards Ukraine, U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken stated on Sunday.

“That pipeline … does not have any gas flowing by it proper now. And, in reality, it is a supply of leverage on Russia as a result of to the extent (Russian) President (Vladimir) Putin needs to see gas flowing by that pipeline – if and when it turns into operational – it’s totally unlikely or laborious to see that occuring if Russia has renewed its aggression on Ukraine, if it takes renewed motion,” Blinken informed NBC’s “Meet the Press” program.
