Pejuang staying out of Pakatan’s ‘big tent’ for Johor election

KUALA LUMPUR: Parti Pejuang Tanah Air doesn’t plan to affix Pakatan Harapan’s proposed “big tent” to contest the upcoming Johor election, says celebration president Datuk Seri Mukhriz Mahathir.

He stated the Pejuang was nonetheless going solo for now and any cooperation with different Opposition events is likely to be thought of later.

“We will not join any coalition and our candidates will contest on the Pejuang ticket.

“For now, we have no intention to offer our candidates under the Pakatan logo or join its ‘big tent’,” he informed reporters after the “Sepetang Bersama Datuk Seri Mukhriz Mahathir” assembly right here on Tuesday (Feb 8)

Mukhriz stated they’d entered into discussions with the Malaysian United Democratic Alliance (Muda) however no ultimate resolution was made on cooperation for the Johor polls.

“But there was no serious talks with other parties, for example Pakatan,” he added.

On Jan 24, Opposition chief Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim stated that every one Opposition events – together with Pejuang, Parti Warisan Sabah and Muda – ought to work collectively below a “large tent” idea to face the Johor election.
