Perak’s police tourism unit back in action to patrol tourist spots

IPOH: The police’s tourism unit has been reintroduced to patrol tourist spots in Perak.

State police chief Comm Datuk Mior Faridalathrash Wahid mentioned 35 policemen have been assigned to the unit to cope with vacationers in 5 districts.

“They will assist present data to vacationers and their presence will make guests really feel protected.

They have already began their duties in tourist hotspots in the state,” he mentioned after the launch of the unit and a townhall session on protected tourism at a lodge right here on Thursday (June 23).

He mentioned the unit will probably be energetic in Ipoh, Taiping, Batu Gajah, Kuala Kangsar and Manjung.

Among the places the unit will probably be patrolling are Ipoh Old Town, the railway station, Taiping Lake Gardens, Kellie’s Castle, Teluk Batik and the Lumut jetty.

State tourism committee chairman Datuk Nolee Ashilin Mohammed Radzi mentioned electrical scooters will probably be donated to the unit to assist them with their patrols.
