Police issue RM36,000 in compound notices during nightclub raids in KL

KUALA LUMPUR: Compound notices amounting to RM36,000 had been issued to patrons and homeowners of premises following raids on three leisure shops in town.

Kuala Lumpur Crime Prevention and Community Safety Department chief Senior Asst Comm Datuk Azman Ayob mentioned 33 patrons and three homeowners had been issued RM1,000 compound notices every for violating the Covid-19 normal working procedures (SOP) on Thursday (Feb 24).

“Activities in pubs and nightclubs are nonetheless prohibited,” he mentioned in a press release on Friday (Feb 25).

Since Jan 1, KL JPJKK had issued RM406,000 value of compound notices to homeowners of leisure shops in addition to patrons for his or her failure to stick to the SOP, SAC Azman mentioned.

“We urge the general public to adjust to the SOP to forestall the unfold of Covid-19.

“We will step up such operations to make sure compliance to the SOP,” he added.
