KUALA LUMPUR: Police will examine the involvement of a number of Members of Parliament, state assemblymen and non-governmental organisations (NGO) in the People’s Solidarity Secretariat’s (SSR) rally in Bangsar Saturday (Jan 22).
Brickfields district police chief ACP Amihizam Abdul Shukor stated the investigations can be performed underneath the Public Assembly Act 2012 and the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases Act 1988 (Act 342).
Amihizam, in a press release, stated about 50 individuals sporting black shirts began gathering on the Bangsar LRT station from 10.45am.
“At about 11.45am, the estimated 400 participants carrying banners printed with ‘Tangkap’ started moving to Jalan Travers until the traffic light junction to Brickfields,” he stated.
He stated the individuals of the rally then moved again to the Bangsar LRT and dispersed in levels half-hour later after the chief of the meeting gave a speech.
Amihizam stated 21 law enforcement officials and 205 males from numerous items together with the Federal Reserve Unit (FRU), Kuala Lumpur police contingent headquarters, Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department (JSPT) and Air Operation Force Drone Unit (PGU) have been concerned in monitoring the rally. – Bernama
